About This Book

Rooting Depths of Plants Relative to Biological and Environmental Factors  Teralene S. Foxx, Gail D. Tierney, Joel M. Williams. 1984

In 1981-1982, an extensive bibliographic study was done to document rooting depths of native plants in the United State.  The data base contained over 1000 citations and approximately 12,000 data elements.  In this paper the data were analyzed for rooting depths as related to life form, soil type, geographic region, root type, family, root depth to sheet height ratios, and root depth to root lateral ratios.
